Ascorbyl Palmitate is an esterified form of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), combined with palmitic acid. Ascorbic acid is a powerful antioxidant which supports the immune system and the production of collagen.

Ascorbic acid functions as both a coenzyme and cofactor. The body requires ascorbic acid to synthesize L- carnitine, which is vital in the transport of energy to mitochondria, and to produce dopamine in the nervous system and adrenal glands. Ascorbic acid is required for collagen synthesis and plays a structural role in bone, cartilage and teeth. Ascorbic acid, together as sodium, potassium, and calcium salts, are typically used as antioxidant food additives.

Supplementation ascorbic acid may help support healthy connective tissue and metabolism.
