What is Beta Glucan (1,3) 20%
Beta glucans are naturally occurring polysaccharides that are an integral cell wall constituent in a variety of bacteria, plants and fungi.Purebulk's Beta Glucan (1,3) is a purified isolate extracted from yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, with the harmful yeast proteins removed.
S. cerevisiae is the species of budding yeast commonly used in baking and brewing. This microorganism is the basis of the most common type of fermentation and reproduces by means of a division process known as budding.
Beta glucan is used as a food additive in products such as salad dressings, frozen desserts, sour cream and cheese spreads.
The name of the yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, comes from the Latinized Greek Saccharo - which translates to "sugar" - and myces, which means "fungus." Cerevisiae comes from Latin and means "of beer."
