Calcium Citrate, 500 grams
    Calcium Citrate is a salt of calcium and citric acid forming a somewhat sour tasting food grade nutritional product and calcium supplement. You will receive a labeled heavy-duty 4 mil polyethylene bag containing 500 grams of this pure bulk powder product. Five hundred grams is also 500 grams, or approximately 1.102 pounds, or approximately 17.637 ounces by weight.     Although there are several common uses of calcium citrate its principle use is as a dietary calcium supplement. It is also frequently used as a food additive to impart a sour taste to foods. Calcium Citrate is also used as a food perservative and as a water softener because its citrate ions can chelate unwanted metal ions. Calcium citrate is considered to have a higher bioavailable as a calcium supplement than the more common (and less expensive) Calcium Carbonate.
