We haven’t posted here since December!!! Things have been very busy, I (Jared) was in India for most of January, and Timothy has been quite overwhelmed with business. We shipped out our 10,000th order on THIS version of the site the other day, and we’re almost already to 11,000! We’ve actually had three or so generations of the purebulk.com website. Maybe some of you remember 1kg.us…and shortly after we changed our name to Purebulk.com, and had a less flashy version of zencart up. This version has been live since July of 2008 I believe.

I’ve been working on streamlining the administration interface for Timothy, who has been so overwhelmed fulfilling your orders we have been scrambling to make changes to our systems to help free up some of his time. We are almost done with our volumetric shipping module, which means the cart will accurately report & charge you for your orders. After that, I am replacing the checkout system, the current one is based off of the xcheckout community zencart mod, and it’s all done in AJAX type javscript. I know that a fair amount of you have issues with it allowing you to change your shipping address amongst numerous other issues.

It will be gone as soon as possible. Also, We ARE going to put up a forum. I told Timothy I would have it up before the end of the Month. We really appreciate all of your feedback & comments, I’m sorry that I haven’t been able to respond to all of them individually.

The currency rates. There is a bug in the script that updates them, and it has been occasionally reading in rates from nearly 2 years ago! I think I’ve fixed it as of about 30 minutes ago. If you notice anything wonky with the rates, send me an email, and place your order in USD to avoid complications.

Hrmmm…what else. The server is holding up fairly well to our ever increasing traffic. I still have some more apache tweaking to be done as the rates increase. We seem to get about 1000 uniques a day at this time. If you are a total apache wizard, and breath .conf files instead of oxygen, please shoot me an email, jared@purebulk.com, I’d love to pick your brain!
