    This Cinnamon Powdered Extract 4:1 (Cinnamomum cassia Presl) is assayed by the manufacturer to have a water soluble extract ratio of 4 to 1. You will receive a sealed and labeled heavy duty 4 mil polyethylene bag containing 1 kilogram of this characteristically cinnamon brown powdered product. One kilogram is also one thousand grams, or 1000 grams, or approximately 2.205 pounds, or approximately 35.274 ounces by weight. You won't receive the fancy retail packaging, but you will receive a great deal at or below wholesale prices for a high purity bulk quantity of this product.

    Water soluble cinnamon extract has been shown in clinical studies to reduce fasting blood sugar levels in patients with type II diabetes (Anderson, et al, European Journal of Clinical Investigation). This study evaluated the effects of water soluble cinnamon extract on glycemic control and the lipid profile of patients with type II diabetes. This study adds further evidence that water soluble cinnamon extract supplementation may play an important role in the management of blood sugar levels and in improving insulin function. Dr. Anderson who pioneered this research determined that the most active Cinnamon P.E. compound, methylhydroxy chalcone polymer (MHCP), actually increased glucose metablolism of fat cells in vitro 20 times relative to control.

    This Cinnamon Powdered Extract is the water soluble extraction by water and alcohol (ethanol) from the bark of the Cinnamomum cassia Presl plant. This product does not contain appreciable quantities of the spicy cinnamon oil that you might associate with your kitchen variety of cinnamon powder. Because this product is extracted from the water soluble components of cinnamon bark it can be concentrated to levels that would be toxic if it contained cinnamon oil.

    One rounded quater-teaspoon is about 750 milligrams of this product and mixes well water, juice, or hot tea. Its flavor and aroma is characteristic of the kitchen variety powdered cinnamon spice, except without the hot spicy oil component. It really does tastes wonderful and adds a pleasent cinnamon flavor to hot or iced tea. For best results take 3 to 6 times per day.
