L-Glutamine AKG Capsules, L-Glutamine.What is L-Glutamine alpha-Ketoglutarate (AKG)?
L-glutamine alpha-ketoglutarate is a glutamine precursor that efficiently bypasses the digestive system for superior absorption and cell volumization.Glutamine alpha-ketoglutarate contains the amino acid L-glutamine, a primary energy source in the body often used to aid exercise performance in athletes.
Alpha-ketoglutarate is a derivative of glutaric acid and plays a key role in the Krebs citric acid cycle, which converts carbohydrates, fats and protein into carbon dioxide and water to generate energy.
This 2:1 blended product contains two parts of L-glutamine for every one part of alpha-ketoglutarate. Glutamine alpha-ketoglutarate works at the cellular level, allowing L-glutamine to move directly into the bloodstream.
Glutamine is converted to glucose when the body requires more energy. Glutamine also aids in maintaining the proper acid/alkaline balance in the body and is important for the synthesis of RNA and DNA.
