L-histidine HCl is the hydrochloride salt of L-histidine, an essential amino acid and is an important functional component in many enzymes, as well as a biochemical precursor to histamine and L-carnosine biosynthesis. Because L-histidine is an essential amino acid, it is not synthesized in the human body and must be supplied by dietary intake or supplementation.

Supplementation of L-histidine is necessary for protein synthesis and to provide support for healthy metabolic and immune function.
