L-Carnosine (ß-Alanine-L-histidine), 100 grams

This pharmaceutical grade amino acid L-Carnosine is assayed by the manufacturer to be 99.45% product. You will receive a sealed and labeled heavy duty 4 mil polyethylene bag containing 100 grams of this white powder product. One hundred grams is also 100 grams, or approximately 3.527 ounces by weight. You won't receive the fancy retail packaging, but you will receive a great deal at or below wholesale prices for a high purity bulk quantity of this product. This product dissolves somewhat slowly in water and has very little flavor or taste. Just mix your usual dose with water or juice and drink.

L-Carnosine is a dipeptide of two amino acids, ß-Alanine and L-histidine. L-Carnosine is naturally present in the human body, however, L-Carnosine levels decline with age. L-Carnosine is classified as a super anti-oxidant because it has the remarkable ability to nutralize the destructive effects of great variety of free radicals, hydroxyl radicals, super oxides, singlet oxygen, and peroxyl radicals. Some research studies also suggest L-Carnosine may be effective in helping to protect cellular DNA and chromosomes from the oxidative damage assoicated with cellular aging.

Recommended dosing for L-Carnosine vary between as little as 50 milligrams (mg) per day to as much as 1 gram per day. For internal use take 1/8th level teaspoon (202mg) to 1/4 level teaspoon (404mg) once or twice per day. L-Carnosine is also used topically (for anti-aging skin care) usually in concentrations between 0.5% and 2% by weight. When preparing topical solutions you may want to ad 1% Ascorbic Acid or 1% EDTA as a preservative.
