Hyaluronic acid (also called sodium hyaluronate or HA), a component of connective tissue, belongs to a family of carbohydrate polymers known as glycosaminoglycans. Hyaluronic acid is found in many tissues of the body, such as skin, cartilage, and the vitreous humor.
Supplementation of hyaluronic acid helps healthy support connective tissue, especially skin and joints.

Hyaluronic 1% Solution Preparation:To prepare 12 fluid ounces of 1% (by weight) Hyaluronic Acid solution, be aware it should only be dissolved in cold water. Never attempt to dissolve Hyaluronic Acid in hot or room temperature water. You will need the following items:
- 3.56 grams Hyaluronic Acid Powder.
- 12 fluid ounces cold distilled water.
- 16 fluid ounce or larger capacity wide mouth glass or plastic water bottle with a tightly sealing lid.
- Gram weight measuring scale with an accuracy of 0.01 gram and a capacity of 100 grams.
- Pint sized glass or plastic measuring cup.
- A wide-range cooking thermometer (that can go down to freezing)
1. Measure out 12 fluid ounces distilled water and pour into water bottle.
2. Place in refrigerator for about 4 hours.
3. Measure the temperature of water to confirm water temperature is 39°F (4°C) or less.
4. Measure 3.56 grams Hyaluronic Acid powder (approximately two level teaspoons).
5. Add the Hyaluronic Acid powder into the water bottle on top of the cold water.
6. Seal the bottle lid tightly and shake the bottle a few times. The Hyaluronic Acid powder will not appear to dissolve but will clump together in floating white masses. This is normal.
7. Place the water bottle with the Hyaluronic Acid powder and cold water into the refrigerator (but do not freeze).
8. Periodically, about every two to four hours, shake the bottle and then place immediately back into refrigerator. After 4 to 8 hours you will notice that the Hyaluronic Acid clumps are turning clear and dispersing into solution. After 12 to 24 hours the Hyaluronic Acid will be completely dissolved forming a thickened and gelatinous liquid with a viscosity between maple syrup and honey, but still pourable.
Yield: For internal use a level tablespoon will net approximately 150 milligrams Hyaluronic Acid.
Hyaluronic Acid solution storage: You can store your 1% Hyaluronic Solution in the refrigerator and use it as needed. This HA solution if prepared and stored properly should keep for a minimum of 48 to 72 hours with refrigeration. You should not attempt to store your HA solution at room temperature without the addition of preservatives. The maximum safe time you can keep your HA solution refrigerated without spoilage will depend upon your ability to keep the solution sterile. Microbial contamination of your solution will cause it to spoil and lose its thickness (viscosity). If over time the solution becomes thin or loses its thickness and viscosity it has spoiled and should be discarded.
