What is Caffeine Powder?

Caffeine is the world's most popular psychoactive substance. Nearly 90% of adults in North America consume caffeine on a daily basis. Unlike most other psychoactive substances, caffeine is legal and unregulated in nearly all jurisdictions. The United States Food and Drug Administration classifies caffeine anhydrous as a multipurpose additive, or food additive, that is generally safe for consumption. Food and beverage manufacturers are mandated by law to list caffeine on labels only when caffeine has been added to a product. Caffeine that occurs naturally in ingredients is not required to be listed on labels. Caffeine stimulates the central nervous system, warding off drowsiness and restoring alertness. The most commonly consumed sources of caffeine are coffee, tea, chocolate, soft drinks and sports/energy drinks.
